Wednesday the 13th of December,

Twelve more days till Christmas! So how is everybody? Are the stockings hung up by the chimney with care? Are the kids trying to get into the locked closets? My brother, sister and I were super detectives when it came to finding the presents. There was no safe place at our house.  We got darn good at wrapping the presents exactly back the way our Mom had them!  I think we loved the "hunt" (looking for them), more than we liked the presents.

Well the kitchen cabinets did not get here till the 11th! But they have been installing them since then and it is starting to look like a whole new kitchen and pantry!! They also have been installing them in our bathrooms.  My hubby has been tearing out the tile floors so I have been doing a lot of clean up around here. Every day you can write your name in the dust on the hard surfaces. Drives me nuts! We forgot to pick out knobs and handles for the cabinets, so we went last night. There is like a million knobs to choose from. There is so many cool ones, that we had a hard time choosing.

I listed some more orphan specials on Ebay last night, click here  to view them.

Till next time my beady friends!

Sunday the 3rd of December,

22 more days till Christmas. Time is flying this year, before you know it it will be 2007.  Speaking of flying, I thought for sure we would of had flying cars by now.  That would be so Awesome!!  You know how they said that the 2000's would be a new era for advanced technology.

I have listed a few new sets on Ebay lately.  Tonight I listed a Coffee & Donut set.  Makes me want to go brew a pot of coffee just thinking about them  :0)  I will have a few more goodie sets going up in the next few days. My hubby always wants me to make him goodies when he see's me make glass goodies. But this time I have a very good excuse, my kitchen is just about all tore out.  Cabinets will be here the 6th, hopefully. Poor Hubby will have to suffer, I promised to make him some in the remodeled kitchen when we are all finished.

Till next time my beady friends!

Monday the 13th of November

So are you having visions of Thanksgiving dinner in your tummy yet? I sure am.  As soon as the weather turns cold, and I see the leaves turning colors on the tree's, I think "Turkey Dinner" with all the trimmings, Yum-Yum. Turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, yams, fruit salad, mashed potatoes/gravy and of course the pumpkin pie topped with whipped cream. My tummy is growling already! This year there will be no slaving over the stove for me as mine will be tore out of the counter. This week is the start of demolition of the kitchen.  Eeek!!!  Our bathroom, kitchen and pantry cabinets will be here Dec. 6th and they will start installing them shortly there after. My hubby is re-doing the floors and the backsplash along the counters and floors.  It is going to look so good!  We are all decided on colors and styles for everything pretty much, but I'm sure that we will change our minds some along the way. This is the second time I have been through a kitchen remodel, so this time I know what to expect (I think anyways :0).

Yes, I should have some more beads up this week.  Please check back in a couple days.

Till next time...............

Sunday the 5th of November

Can you believe it is already November? Me neither!  But right now the days sure are awesome here in the desert.  The nights are cool for sleeping and the days are just right for being outside. Plus, it is PERFECT for torching!  No sweat rolling down my arms......... got to love that! Now I can work in the cactus garden again without feeling like I'm in the oven under the BROIL temperature.

How was your Halloween? This was our first Halloween at this house and I knew we wouldn't get too many trick or treaters, but we got ZERO, none, nada!!!! I was sooooooooo disappointed.  :0(   I felt like the girl all dressed up for her date and the date never does show up. Where we lived in California before we moved here, we had so many trick or treaters that we had to buy BIG multiple bags of candy and we always decorated the house to the max complete with fog effects. Yesterday I took down the Halloween decorations and put them away, thinking that maybe I won't put up so many next time.  Maybe next year we will just go down to the "Strip" and see what happens at some of the casino's on Halloween.

Not too much going on lately.  Been doing a lot of torching and I will be putting up some beads on Ebay and here on the site hopefully today and tomorrow.  Been cleaning out the bead boxes, and will be putting up some "orphan" specials.

OK, that's it for now, talk soon........................

Monday the 23rd of October

Good Morning Everybody!  I woke up this morning at 5:30 a.m. and it was down right cold outside.  It was only 54 degree's. It seems really chilly after all this heat we have had.  My chili peppers are starting to get yellow leaves and they look rather christmasey with the colors they have now.
Here is a picture of sorta where my business name came from. My friends have always called me the Palm Tree Queen because I have always loved palm tree's and I am always growing some. My last house had close to two hundred planted and now I am going to populate this property also with them. This is the latest batch of mexican fan palms that we are growing out, they are about 5-6 feet tall. Check out the awesome mountain view in the backgound.

Here is some pictures from the cactus garden.  Aren't these cool Mariachi Band guys?  Underneath the tortoise statue's hind leg lives a cotton tail bunny family.

The Sugar Gliders are doing really good.  I still haven't taken a picture of them.  They are nocturnal with these great big eyes that are ever so cute. I'm afraid that the flash of my camera will hurt them!  I will try to get them up in the daytime for pics one day.  The remodel is going really good with the kitchen so far, probably because we haven't ripped anything out yet.  The cabinets won't be here for another month, so hubby doesn't want to get to far ahead of ourselves and be without a kitchen for a long time. We have been picking out tile for the floors, backsplash for the walls and floors, sinks for the baths and kitchen.  I can't wait till it's all done already.  Well my kiln is hot and ready to go.  I'm going to go create some beads.

Talk soon...............................

Sunday the 15th of October.

I can hardly believe it's already been a week since I posted!!  Where the heck does time go?  Seems like I never have enough. I can honestly say that I am never ever bored!  I know, I know, I promised  new beads this week and I didn't deliver. But I did get two new auctions up tonight on ebay, click here to see them.  I promise to get some more up this week. I spent this morning getting my studio all cleaned up so I can start the week all fresh and clean.  You wouldn't believe how messy a lampworker's studio can get. Then I cleaned up the bead room where I do all my shipping, taking pictures, and put the bead sets together.  I put away all the Halloween colors and broke out the Christmas colors.  Can't wait to get started in the morning!!  Last time I posted I told you I was going Quad riding.  Well we did and we had a blast! Here is a few pics...................
Cool landscape, huh?
 Check out the awesome background!
The foreground isn't too shabby either! My hubby on the orange Quad and our three good looking friends on the Rhino. My Quad is the black one, cool huh?
This next picture is of my hubby and one of our dog's, his name is Manny. A handsome pair if I don't say so myself! :0)

I have a clean studio and bead room so I should be able to concentrate on beads this week.  The weather is much cooler here and very tolerable for lampworking without having to run the air conditioners full blast! Halloween is almost here, sure wish I could go trick or treating again! For sure I would be a witch!!

Till next time my beady friends...............

Sunday the 8th of October,

Good Morning to all you bead heads!

So how is everything in your part of the world?  I have been asked, where's a pic of me?  OK, I had hubby take one last time we were out riding our Quads (4-wheel ATV's).  I told him not too close, didn't want to scare you all the first time :0)  This pic is taken at a place that's near the Valley of Fire and in the background to the right you can see an old mine shack.  I just had found a desert tortoise, and was moving it to a safer spot as there were a bunch of ATV's coming about a mile behind us.  Didn't want the little guy to get run over, as sometimes they look just like rocks.  You really shouldn't pick them up as they will pee and lose their much needed water content, but I figured that was better than getting run over.  This one didn't seem to care too much that I was picking him up and he/she did not pee.

We are going to ride the Quads today right from our house to the mountains that are about three miles away.  It will be the first time that we have rode there.  I would like to get high enough to take a pic of my house if I can see it from there.  For sure I will be able to take pics of the Las Vegas strip.  I guess that it is awesome to go up there on New Years eve and 4th of July and watch the Strip fireworks.

I am working on Fall and Christmas beads and hope to have some on ebay the middle of this week.  I got out all my Halloween decorations and have them up.  It sure is feeling like Fall now!

Till next time...................

Wednesday the 4th of October,

So how is everybody in your part of the world?????  I am A-OK myself!!  My new family members, the sugar gliders are starting to settle in.  I have them feeding out of my hand now, although I do cheat and always smear the treats with a little honey, which they totally love.  The other night I had one on me in the kitchen and it jumped off and went under the fridge, oh boy!!!  It was a pain in the behind trying to get it out.  It finally crawled up the power cord and I was able to get it then.  I was having all kinds of terrible thoughts of it being chopped to pieces by the fan.  I still haven't come up with any good names.  They are a boy and girl, so a famous couple name would be cute. I call them the sugar babies for now.  Got any suggestions?  I want to take pics of them, but they never get up till about 10pm, Sheesh, I am just about burnt out by then.  But I promise to get some up soon, they are terribly cute!  They have ears like bats!!

I have listed the last of the Halloween beads on Ebay. This week I will be starting to make Fall and Christmas beads.  I just love to make holiday beads!  If you have a special bead style that you would like to see me make, give me a holler and I will do my best to see if the "Glass Muse" would like to create it.

Till next time.............................

Thursday the 28th of September,

Another month has already gone by!  Where does the time go?  I remember when I was a teenager time just crawled. Now it whips by so fast it makes my head spin!!  Fall is arriving, I sure can feel it in the air.  It is my favorite time of year.  It's time to break out all the fall and halloween decorations and get them hung up.

We have added two members to our family.  We are the proud parents of two baby sugar gliders.  They are ever so cute and ever so soft.  I am totally fascinated with them.  Here is a sugar glider link .  Does anybody out there have any?  And do you have any good tips for me?  They are nocturnal, so I find myself staying up way too late playing with them.  I will post pics of them when I get them settled in a little more.  They are just beginning to trust me.

Till next time...........................

Friday the 22nd of September

How is everybody today?  I am A-OK!  I just got done filling my hummer feeder and I just had seven of those sweet little things fighting over a place to sit and drink.  That is the most I have had at one time.  Except it is so windy today, I can't believe they are even flying around.  I had to go rescue a couple of our young tree's. The wind had broken their tie downs.  They were getting ready to snap in half.  I have a couple of young Sulcatta Tortoises (get up to over a hundred pounds, second biggest tortoises in the world), and they are even hiding in their burrow today.  We have named them Laverne & Shirley (they are girl's), we would like to get a male someday, and we will call him  Lenny or Squiggy.  Hubby and I are always driving out in the desert.  We have been real lucky with seeing wild tortoises, burro's, horses, lizards, etc.  I just love it!  Here is a couple pics of the landscape around here that I took on our last drive.  It is really beautiful country around here!!!!
I have listed some new beads on the sculptural page, be sure to take a peek.  You can buy with Paypal, just like you do on Ebay.  If you would like to pay with a money order, email me so I can take it out of stock for you.  Have a good day!!
Till next time.......................

Tuesday the 19th of September

Hey all you bead heads! Hope your having a good day in your part of the world.  Hubby and I are getting ready to rip apart our kitchen and remodel the whole darn thing. We will be doing this nights and week-ends.  Oh boy!!!   I wish that it was done already.  Plus you know it always takes longer than you think!!
I have listed some new sculptural beads today in the product section.  I have been having a lot of request for witch heads, so there is some of those listed as well.
The weather here in the Las Vegas desert has finally turned a little cooler.  These are the type of days I have been longing for.  I have lived here a little over a year and I am still getting used to this type of climate.
Last Thursday I was at Petsmart and was running up to the check stand (was in big hurry) and caught my little toe on something sticking out and BROKE it!!!  Boy did I ever want to say some choice words  :0).  It turned black and blue immediately and swelled up.  I have caught those little toes a million times on stuff but have never broke one till now. The doc does nothing for it, but tape it to your next toe.  Suppose to be healed in about 8-10 weeks. Here's my advice, keep your shoes on people while running in stores (no flip-flops)!!
Here is a pic of my cute littlest doggie. She is a Yorkie. I so love her to pieces, even though she is a 5 pound terror, I mean Terrier!!

Till next time.............................

Hey Everyone!! Hope everyone is having a good day in your part of the world! Today is a errand day for me.  All the little thing's I have been putting off. For sure, I would much rather make beads than do errands. My cat looked so comfy on his bed this morning I just had to share.  Isn't he cute?  His name is BK.  That is short for bad kitty.  I listed some new beads today in the sculptural section.  Talk soon................................
